A Story Only God Could Write

After 104 Years...

Imagine living in a remote desert village in South Sudan.

You’ve never gone to school. You’ve never learned to read. There are no books or movies in your language. Your village has no electricity. No internet. No television. No connection to the outside world.

Now imagine you’re 104 years old.

You’ve lived through colonization, famine, tribal conflict, and unimaginable hardship.

And then one day, your life changes forever.🌄

God is Faithful!

A group of young men from another tribe arrives at your doorstep. They carry with them a small solar-powered device.

They turn it on and suddenly, for the first time in your life, you hear your own tribal language being spoken through the device. 🔊🔊🔊

You listen closely.

What you hear is a story—about a man named Jesus who died for you. ✝️

In all your 104 years, this is the very first time you’ve heard His name and His story.

You immediately recognize your sin, respond to your need of a savior, and another name is added to the Book of Life!

The Divine Chain Reaction

That moment in Wonrock, South Sudan happened in March 2020

It was not a coincidence.

It was the result of a beautiful, God-orchestrated chain of obedience that spanned continents and generations:

• In the United States, an electrical engineer—the founder of Renew World Outreach—developed the Torch Audio Bible and Jesus Film projector, both powered by the sun.
• Bible translators and recording teams worked tirelessly to translate the Word of God into heart languages across South Sudan.
• At our Hope Encounter outreach conference, we trained and equipped young people to become missionaries, sending them into villages just like this one with our solar machines.

Then we see it all came together in the salvation of individuals like this wonderful woman. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

The Modern Ethiopian Eunuch

Just like in Acts 8, where God sent Philip to evangelize the Ethiopian Eunuch in the desert, God is STILL orchestrating the revelation of His plan of salvation to individuals around the globe - even 104 year old women in the barren wilderness of Wonrock, South Sudan!

There are still many villages in South Sudan where the name of Jesus has not been heard or understood.

There are still people—young and old—waiting for someone to come.

But thanks be to God and people like you, more and more young people in South Sudan are being equipped to participate in these plans God is orchestrating, and Jesus is being glorified over and over again.
